National Youth Theatre | | | About me | I've wanted to be a lighting designer for as long as I can remember, and this September I will enrol at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama to start a three year BA Hons Degree in Theatre Technology.
I have ambitions to work professionally on projects for both stage and screen across a wide spectrum of genres, styles and themes. I want to work alongside other talented professionals, creating both small and large scale events and bringing written ideas to life all over the world.
I'm a technical member of the National Youth Theatre, and I'm also a member of the technical team for the International and National Student Drama Festival. I continue to spend many summers with these organisations as it's such a good opportunity to learn, develop and meet new people.
I believe it's best to immerse yourself in as much as you can in whatever way you can, as it's the best way to learn and build skills that will serve me well in my own career, which is why my experience is so varied. | | | Additional Skills | I have always maintained an interest in technical theatre, specifically lighting, and my experience ranges from technically directing school performances right the way up to shadowing industry leading lighting designers such as Durham Marenghi and Tim Routledge for shows in theatre and TV.
However I also continue to explore the world of video, and projection as this is fast becoming a well used feature in performance technology and one that I hope to someday use.
