About me
The arts have always been a place i feel i have fit most naturally in to even from a young age. I studied Art throughout school with it being my favourite subject. From there I advanced on to studying Art and Design in college where i was awarded the title of "Best in Year". I developed an interested in 3D Design during my Foundation course at Epsom UCA. The foundation course inspired me to study Design in greater depth so i went to Leeds Metropolitan University to study Furniture Design and Design Psychology.I was lucky enough to be able to get a part time job as a studio runner at BBC Television studios whilst at college which was a great way to gain an understanding of the live creative industry from a relatively early age. This combined with both my parents having worked in TV and film throughout their entire careers meant that i always felt somewhat destined to end up working in the creative industry myself.
After a couple miss-matched jobs to tide me over i finally got my first real job in the creative industry working for the live events company Boo Productions. I worked at a Design Assistant for a number of years whilst also gaining experience as a carpenter, scenic artist, prop maker, dresser, crew chief, production manager and warehouse co-ordinator. I worked there full time for 2.5 years and have continued to freelance for the company to this day.
I eventually moved on from Boo to go travelling and upon returning in 2018 got a job as a Flyman at "Phantom of the Opera" at HMT. I continued to work at Phantom until my Covid-19 related redundancy.
During this time i also continued to freelance as putting my variety of skills to use and on two separate occasions left to tour with S4K International on their productions or Billy Goats Gruff, Dr Dolittle and Aladdin. Whilst on these tours i acted as Lighting Technician, Stage hand, Master Carpenter, Props master and Crew Chief.
