What does a theatre Chief Technician do?
The Chief Technician is also referred to as the
Technical Manager. They combinesy technical expertise with safety knowledge to oversee all the technical elements of a production. A typical day involves attending meetings, overseeing fit-ups and get-ins/outs, designing, budgeting and solving any problems that crop up. The Chief Technician has usually moved up the Technical ladder as a
Technician and often moves on to work as a
Production Manager.
