What does a theatre Lighting Technician do?
The Lighting Technician programmes the LX desk, rigs and often operates the lighting systems for a performance, following either theirs designs or those of the
Lighting Designer. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment and doing paperwork. Lighting Technicians often move up the LX departmental ladder to work as
Deputy Chief Electrician or
Chief Electrician.
