		<title>Pay: Casual General Technician</title>

		<description>The Conservatory operates the Leacock Theatre, the Wright Theatre and the Nickle Theatre at the Mount Royal University Lincoln Park Campus. The theatres are operated as a community resource, a strategic asset to the University and as an essential element of the Conservatory's world class performance education programming. The Conservatory Theatres present more than 600 performances and recitals per year.
The successful candidate will have a well-rounded experience in all areas of technical theatre that will meet the requirements of our three main client groups. Applicants should specify their strengths, courses and qualifying experience in areas such as rigging, safety, sound, lighting and staging.

Duties will include all areas of theatre production support, specifically:
*	Assist with event Set Up and Strike as required.
*	Set up and operation of audio equipment for a variety of lectures, recording, live music and pre-recorded performances. Equipment inventory includes a wide range of digital sound equipment such as the Meyer/LCS Cue Station and WildTracks system, Yamaha DM2000, etc.
*	Hang, focus and lighting board operations.
*	Rigging including set up and operation of ProLite Truss, CandM Motors, manual counterweight and J. R. Clancy SureLift / SceneControl 500 fly systems.
*	Set- up and operation of computer/video projection presentations.
*	For internal University Clients, the venues frequently operate with only one technician supported by client volunteers. As such the technician is expected to provide direction or, guidance and support as necessary.
*	Perform maintenance and upkeep to all theatrical equipment during off-peak times.
*	Ensure inventory is tracked, backstage and work areas are lit and uncluttered. 
*	Maintain awareness and keep skill set up to date with respect to first aid and safety and health of co-workers and audience members.








QUALIFICATIONS:
*	Two year diploma from a University or equivalent
*	3 - 5 years related experience
*	Requires expert knowledge, maturity and precision
*	Technical Knowledge and evidence of personal learning and upgrading or 
*	 Currency in technical theatre specialties.
*	Experience with Classical and Jazz Music Performance Support.
*	Experience in an Educational Environment
*	Computer Literacy
*	Training in Safety and Safety supervision
*	Willingness to work an irregular schedule

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts - North Battleford, Saskatchewan
The soon to open 38,000 square foot, 385 seat Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts requires an experienced and committed Director of Technical Services who will:
Operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of the theatre including supervising the use of lighting, sound, projection and communications equipment and maintenance of all stage facilities.
Work with and provide advice and guidance to all clients ,users and guests of the theatre to ensure a safe and efficient environment in which to work and perform.
Hire and supervise all technical staff as required. 
Provide mentorship, training and instruction to technical lstaff and volunteers as needed to create an efficient and safety focussed professional technical services team.
Be present in the theatre during load-ins, load-outs ,rehearsals and performances; to supervise the safe and correct operation of the theatre's technical equipment.
Manage the technical expense budget and maintain all support paper work, invoices, reports and logs as necessary to ensure an efficient and fiscally responsible technical services department.
Ensure all required safety, industrial and construction codes are met and implement health and safety policies and procedures for equipment, rigging and facility use.
Join the management team/Board in developing and delivering to the Battlefords a superior facility that provides the widest opportunity for its citizens to participate in and experience the performing arts.
 Experience/Qualifications:
3-5 years related experience
Post secondary degree/certificate in theatre production and/or extensive professional experience . 
Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
A team player, a team leader, a mentor, a problem solve ,calm under pressure, strong time management and people skills and a sense of humour.

The needs of the show are pretty minimal, so it's light work for a great cause.
